Theme Day Thursday August 4, 2011 BEACH

Today the Design Team has picked the theme of BEACH for the day and we have 5 different projects to share with you! I really love that the new design team member just want to jump right in! I couldn't be more happy with the choices I made with the New Members :)  I am so lucky to have such a talent group of all talent levels. On a day like today it just reassures me that I made GREAT choices. So thank you to ALL of my teammates! I love how there are some cards and some layouts.... I went WAY outside the box with this one.

Gayle, Melissa, Heather F, Pattie and myself made cleaver beach creations.

Gayle created a beach family vacation layout!
She used the following Cricut Cartridges:
'Pack your bags' and 'Create a Critter'
By the Way Gayle I LOVE the layout! How cute I love the little family. "Pack your bags" is such a great cartridge for vacations! I love how she used it!
To see how Gayle made this please visit her blog

Melissa made a cute cards with the beach theme....
She used The Cricut Cartridges Dude! and Designer's Calendar
Please visit her blog to see how she made this. I know she used the Cloud stamp from Pink By Design! I am curious to see what else she used! I also see that she used embossing ( I gave her a 2 minute embossing tutorial last week, I am so happy to see her using what she learned!!!)

Heather F.used Life's a Beach Cricut Cartridge
This is adorable! I think I need to Scrap-lift it!
To see how she made this adorable card please visit her blog
Pattie, a new Team member came  up with this Whale of a good time card!
She used Pack your Bags and Hello Kitty Font Cricut Cartridges, now using Hello Kitty, that's creative!

I created a scrapbook layout. I used Something to Celebrate and the New Art Neauvoue Cricut Cartridges
I used Best Creations paper. I cut the banners at 1" and the ladies at 5.5" I have to tell you, I have hundreds of books and magazines for scrapbooking and card making and such. But when I go to make something I sit with my cartridges and machine plus my tools.... I don't use the books. i think if I am making something original then it should be an idea I came up with, not someone else..... so some days this takes a while, but this one took my under a half an hour. I have lots of spare parts as I always do i think I am going to make one thing and i get different ideas as I go.... So I have completed pieces, but I still call them spare parts, they go in the drawer with that paper so they are there the next time that I work with that paper collection.

Here is how I spaced out each banner piece to i could see where to put the different colors of paper. i look at the grid and know exactly what sizes of each paper i need. Again this was cut from Something to Celebrate at 1"

Here are the papers in the rows to get the right color for each banner

Here it is removed

This was step two, I put the pink flags in place with my Zig two way glue and Tweezer bees

Here is the finished project of the mini banners

I wanted to make a tag (which i didnt use, but still think i shoudl show you how i did it)
I used the clear template to trace in pencil what I wanted to cut out.

I then cut the paper wich fits perfectly into the metal frame

I put the paper in the frame from the bottom side

Then I used my hand/fingers to put pressure on this to close it.

Here is my finished layout! I love it!

Here is the left page

I used a back side of one of the papers, then cut the stripes and added them to the tops of each rectangle, and put my mini 1" banner on the top side of each. I also used Jumbo Java Versamark ink,

Here is the girl cut form Art Neuvoue I love her! She is so different than anything
I have ever seen on a Cricut cartridge

Here is the girl on the opposite page.

With her photo mat

Tomorrow is Festive Friday , stop back. I do hope you have enjoyed the collection of
different items that we showed to you today! This is the perk of having so many design team members :)
