Wednesday, November 28th - WYEGW - Make gift packaging

Today the Design Team was challenged to make gift packaging.... what a great job they did. They are always up to the challenge!!

Jamie used Christmas Cheer to make this cute tree for this simple gift bag.

Check out the details on her blog http://craftygirl21.blogspot.com/

Tammy S. created a cute gift box, table center piece using Cindy Loo, Art Philosophy.
For more details check out her blog at http://cuttinandstampin.blogspot.com.

Teresa recycled containers to make these really cute treat containers. She used Jolly Holidays, check out the blog at Fresh and Renewed for more details.

My favorite time of year!

We are doing a few things different than we did last year.....
Instead of the 25 days of Christmas from December 1-25, we ALWAYS like to stay ahead so that you have plenty of time to make your crafts.... so we have started today November 12th. There will be a ton of inspiration and a few of last year's amazing projects, we just might dig them up again for you because they were that great!

This also is the time of year for our seasonal design team....

This is for December 1-31, 2012
This is not for a permanent place on our design team. This is just to help out our design team who works so hard to create and share with you all year long. We give them time off so they can craft for their homes, families and friends, and just enjoy a little R & R.
But we want to keep giving you a ton of inspiration.
So this term is ONLY from December 1-31, 2012.
It is similar to a guest designer, but for a month rather than just one day.
So applications are accepted today through Sunday December 2, 11:59pm EST.
The Seasonal team will be announced Monday December 3, 2012
To apply please email your application to EricasTeam@aol.com
with the subject line Seasonal DT Application
Please email me ONE project you have made with your cricut.
Also include your name, facebook name, email address and blog address.

Beginners are VERY VERY welcome. All I ask for beginner and advanced talent, is that when you post try to give as many instructions as possible.
You MUST use cricut cartridges, no SVGs and no Digi-stamps.
During this time there should be NO solicitation for sales of ANY kind.
This is just to showcase your talent and blog.
You will be posting at least one project a week during December, you may post more if you would like.

WEDNESDAY CHALLENGES

Saturday, June 30, 2012

Design Team Call deadline extended to July 5, 2012

June is the end of the first year's term.

January 2012-January 2013 or July 2012-July 2013
Those who joined in January are here until January, but those who joined last June.... their term is up and some of them are moving on.

I am looking for 6 new members.
There are 6 members moving on and I would love to offer those positions to talent ladies. Here is a little bit about it....

My Cricut Craft Room

I am looking for people for all talent levels, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

So even if you have never shared anything that you have made,
even if you do not know much about a blog.... I still want you!

You have to make one project each week. You also must participate in the 100 Cricut Cartridge blog hop the first full weekend each month.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the typical weekly guidelines.
Within the guidelines the themes from week to week vary.

On Monday we use a letter of the day, Let's say the letter is D, They can make something with a cartridge that begins with the letter D, such as Damask Decor, Doodlecharms....etc
Or they may make something that starts with the letter D, Dog, Dish, Dots....etc
Or they make something using a feature key that starts with the letter D,
The other option for each Monday is the option to use the Imagine cartridges in the Imagine machine or the E2, the cricut mini or the Cricut Craft Room Exclusive cartridges.

On Tuesday we make cards. You can use that week's sketch from the challenge to make a card or use that Tuesday's theme

Wednesday we use cartridges in unique ways that most people would never think of.... Would You Ever Guess Wednesday, the idea is to say I would never have thought of that. We will also show you a specific technique used then I will teach that technique Wednesday night on Ustream.

Thursdays are our Theme days, I give a different theme each week or within that theme you can make a home decor project, card, scrapbook layout.... or anything.
I also give the option to use that day's specific cartridge.

Fridays are Scrapbook days.
There are always two options, one might be a color choice, theme, or another fun thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You get the weekends off, except the first weekend of the month when we go through 100 cartridges during our 100 cartridge blog hop the first weekend of each month.

As a design team member you would be responsible for one posting a week on your blog and link it back to my blog.

While on the team you get a discount in my webstore after a month of not missing postings. You get a special Design Team blinkie to post on your blog. In addition to your discount in the webstore you will also have free items added to an order you make with the intention to be used on a Design Team project. So you may order with your Design Team discount but you will also get additional free items to use for a Design Team posting)
The store discount begins at 20%-40% off retail discount. You also may have the chance to attend CHA (Craft and Hobby Association tradeshow)

So HOW can YOU become a member of my team???

To apply please email me EricaCraftRoom@aol.com

This design team uses only Cricut cartridges.
Please send me a project that you have made with your Cricut. Creativity is very important. You may use as many cartridges as you would like. Do what ever you need to to show how creative (or practical) you are.
Either one is encouraged- creative or practical.

Please put the subject DESIGN TEAM CALL if you do not put that as the subject I will probably miss it.

Please include:

1. Your name
2. Your Facebook name
3. Your blog address (You can make a blog if you do not have one yet)
4. Design Teams that you are on
5. Design teams that you have been on
6. What state/country you live in
7. Then tell me why you would love to me on my design team!

Saturday July 7 during our
100 Cricut cartridge blog hop!!!

How would you like me to help you with your Crafting PHD?

What is your crafting PHD?
How can you get it?

In light of the lent season, Catholics give up something for the 40 days before Easter. I feel if I give up something it is only making myself a better person, so I have thought instead of just giving up something I also do something nice for someone each day. I originally thought I started doing it 3 years ago, but I realized I did this when my Aunt was living I did this. So I have been doing this for 7 years. Each day I decided to pick a person to do something nice for. It is not always pre-meditated. Last week I added some extras blades to orders, some people got a free scoring blade and housing set..... I set out free stamps..... Many things. Then Saturday night I gave away a free March scrapbook swap pack to a very nice friend. It is not always 'announced' what I do. Sometimes I do something nice and the person doesn't even know it.... that is the best thing I do. Many of you have touched my life and this is a little way for me to give back.

SO........... What does this mean for you? Well as part of my giving, I want to help you with your
Crafting Projects Half Done.
Your P.H.D

So I am catering a crafting lesson to YOU, specifically ONE person at a time. If you would like ideas, advice or anything crafting, send me a request to EricaCraftRoom@aol.com with the subject PHD

I will then email you back and make a Ustream (an interactive webcast) It will be all about you and what you want to know, learn or want help with. So it doesn't HAVE to be a half done project but maybe it can be some inspiration for your next project. It will be open for others to watch and maybe they can help with ideas too. I will reply to your email and find a time for your class. I will also be doing some ONE-ON-ONE Skype "classes" If there isn't anything crafty that you want to learn, maybe we can just chat and "have coffee/tea together"

It might be in the morning (not before 9:00 am though ;) Or anytime of day that is good for YOU. I am going to do this 5 days a week between now and Easter. I would LOVE to continue this 2-3 days a week all year. Just because I do a topic now doesn't mean I cant do it again. If someone asks for boy scrapbook page ideas.... how many ideas can I give for boy pages.... A TON, so I can do a 'class' more than once.
This does not have to just be Cricut stuff or paper crafting, it can be any CRAFT. If I don't know I will learn it for you, so I can help you. Ideas..... Quilling, Copic markers, glass etching, stamping tricks....etc
So if you would like to "enroll" in my Crafting PHD program please email me EricaCraftRoom@aol.com with the subject PHD and a specific request. The more specific you are the more specific I can be with YOUR class. It will be just for you but others can watch and you can then watch other people's classes and get some more crafting ideas. Also after your class you will get a blinkie to add to your blog that you got your Crafting PHD. You can live anywhere in the WORLD and do this.

I am SO excited about this!! I hope you are too. I look forward to 'meeting' you and making something together!

Don't forget about my
DESIGN TEAM CALL
going on now. How would you like to be a part of the fun we all have, Have your projects shown to over 500 viewers a DAY, on average I have 700 people look at my blog a day, how would you like to have 700 people look at what you have made. Show off your talents, no matter how good you are or just a beginner I want you all!! If you are thinking about it.....
what have you got to lose other than a great time?

Project Sunshine and Smiles
We are all working on the Project Sunshine and Smiles for St. Jude's Children Hospital. We are colleciting 5,000 cards for the kids there. I have created this project "Sunshine and Smiles" and basically I am goign to the hosptial to deliver the cards, but I am going to bring as much sunshine into that hospital as I can. I hope to see a ton of smiles from the kids getting these cards. If I dont see a smiel from the cards, then I will do everything that I can to put a smile on that child's face.
I am also trying to get John Rich a country music STAR, to join me on this project, and he just might bring a few of his celebrety friends to help! I will be collecting cards from now until the end of August. You can mail them to:
Erica's Craft Room
4364 LaBurnum Drive
Akron, Ohio 44319
If you have any questions about this please email me
EricaCraftRoom@aol.com and put Sunshine and Smiles as the subject of the email.
Here are a few more details about the project. You can make any type of card, using and crafting technique that you know, please write a simple message in the card to a child. Please do not remind the child of their illness, most are fighting childhood cancer. You may say get well soon, but DONT say, "I know how you feel and it is not fun...." please DONT say anything like that. But you can say "Get Well Soon" "I hope this puts a smiel on your face".... you get the idea.... you dont need to ask if soemthing is ok to write in it, as long as you do not remind the child of their illness, it is ok.
Frequently asked questions....

Can a child make a card for them?
YES YES YES!!!!
Does it have to be a certain size?
Any size!
Do I have to add envelope?
Nope, I am going to have these in a large (Clean) red wagon for the kids to pick thier own card
Can I put them in envelopes?
Yes
Do I have to use the Cricut to make these??
No, this is the ONLY project that you do not HAVE to use the cricut, but wouldn't it be great if you did :)
Can I make a birthday card?
Sure but I will leave those with the volenteers for the future to give to kids who are there for their birthday
Do I need to have a kids cartridge to do this?
No, you can use anything and make anything, even a card full of flowers. I am sure there will be one child who will love flowers, or bear, cars.... the sky is the limit!

I do hope i have answered all of your questions if not, please email me and I will send it back to you and add it to the post here so others will see the question and answer.

In the meantime I am doing a contest for this....
Each week post your cards on my facebook Cricut Craft Room
Each week i will put all of the name in a bowl and pick a winner. Every card that you submit get you ONE entry into the bowl...
Each week out of those who posted cards, I will pick one and give away the Cricut Circle Exclusive cartridge Cricut Everyday, the only with all of the cute Cricut Images on it! I love this one!
I have 4 of these cartridges to give away, one each week.
At the end of the 4 weeks, who ever submitted the MOST carts will win the NEW Cricut cartridge that will be released this Thursday from Cricut, I cannot tell you the name only that S.S. are the initials for it.
If you have already mailed cards to me, they will be added to the total of cards you are submitting. I do not have to have these cards in my hand this week. BUT you have to post the picture on my facebook for it to count. If you have a card decorating party with your friends or social group.... You can count all of those cards from you , as long as your friends will let you :)

Blog Hop calendar for 2011ANYONE can sign up for ANY bog hop. (Except for December 10-11, these are special surprises my design team has for you)
