Oh Goodness last Friday of October, it is going to be November in a few days. I am surprised that in Ohio we have not had snow yet.... We ALWAYS get snow in October, and I love the snow because that means Christmas is coming soon!!! Speaking of which Christmas is only 58 days away! Yippie Yippie Yea!

There was so much going on last week that I forgot to announce last week's Countdown to Christmas weekly cartridge giveaway winner!

So I will announce last week's winner plus this week's winner.

But a few things first.

I have a ton of new items to add to the store... literally a TON of stuff!

       I will be adding a few things to the store over this weekend, just a few things. BUT you will want to check it out often this weekend. I will be listing a few items for FREE, you just have to find them. They will be priced at $0 you will have to pay the $5 for shipping though. It might not be on the opening screen it might not be in the right category... who knows where it will be. As soon as you find it checkout right away, otherwise if it is in your shopping cart, someone else can still buy it. One rule is you can only get ONE free item. I might do this again, you may only get one free in a twelve month period. So if you win this weekend you may not win a free item again until next October. So it will be a fun search for you over the weekend and if you see one and miss it keep looking over the weekend, there will be more.

      Also if you could help me and click on the add down the right hand side of this page I get a penny every time you click on it. If you all can help me to do that EVERY day when you come to my blog it helps me out and allows me to keep giving things away. You don't have to buy anything when you get to the link.       I am not sure if you know yet or not but I am doing the Countdown to Christmas with 25 projects a day for 25 days in December. I am looking for some help. I will have a sign up next week. You do not have to have a blog to do this. This is your chance to show your creations to people. So I need 25 guest designers EVERYDAY in December. You may do several projects on several days.... there is no limit :) But you can also do one project for just one day. More details will follow next week. The only rules are you MUST use a Cricut, no SVG images and no Digi Stamps. This is also a good way to get noticed by me as I am having a Design Team call in January. I do not know how many people I will me adding to the Design Team it all depends on who wants to stay or move on. Again, more details to follow.

      I will be doing the following classes in November. All you have to do is watch on Ustream. You do not have to pay for these or anything like that. I will also be recording them so if you cannot make it to that time you can still watch it later, or over and over again. I do not have the schedule entirely done but here are some of the classes coming up:

Vinyl, glass etching, Christmas Ornaments, Christmas cards, Cricut cuttable stamps/magnet/create your own embossing folders, cakes, pie crusts, cookies, fondant/gum paste, fabric, stamping, cuttlebug embossing, embossing powders, metal, stamping techniques, Disney Characters, Word Books, Welding, Flowers..etc That is just in November!

I will also be doing several tutorials that are a series:

Cricut Imagine

Cricut Gypsy

Cricut Cake

Cricut CraftRoom

and a few more as people request them.

I will also be posting the RGB codes for ALL of the Imagine cartridges. These are just the color codes that you can make your items with the Imagine to match other things on the cartridge.

Well what is Festive Friday all about?

   I have been trying to explain the theme of each of the days of the week. So the basis of today (Festive Friday) was based on my favorite festive day *CHRISTMAS* Just a few of my favorite things.... Family, Christmas, Cricut and Disney, in no particular order, except family IS first. So, I thought what a better way to stay festive all year long! I LOVE Christmas but I do realize and respect the fact that others may not like or even celebrate Christmas, so I think it is great for everyone to be festive in thier own way.

    The only real theme of today is to be Festive..... so this includes Halloween (seems to be todays favorite) Valentine's day, thanksgiving, birthdays....etc.

    Within that theme the design team may create ANYTHING they want..... My only 3 rules for them on the days that they are featured here is to use thier Cricut Cartridges, No SVGs, and No digital stamps. Now the ladies are on some other design teams..... that have rules different than mine, so I encourage you to check out thier blogs to see the other things that do not fit in my rules for the days they do stuff with me.

   Outside of the 3 rules... they may create ANYTHING they want as long as it falls under the 'name' of the day. Today being FESTIVE FRIDAY! They can make a card, scrapbook layout, home decor item, clothing or fabric item, vinyl...etc

  

    My hope for you as a reader/follower is that, with so many members on my design team and so many samples daily that you will find some new blogs that are really 'your cup of tea' as far as common interests and talent level. So hopefully you find some new blogs and friends along the way

Here is what I have made for today's blog hop....

I used Christmas Cards Cricut Cartridge to make this!

I did my first cuts with just plain copy paper.... I used a brand new mat so I could see where the copy paper was cut. I removed the copy paper and then put my colored paper in the places that I wanted each color. For me it was easier to do it this way, as apposed to loading my mat for each color i wanted to use, so I unloaded my mat put the colors where I wanted them, then "load mat" and touch "repeat last" then CUT. It came out perfect.

You can see that I used an Imagine mat, these mats work in all machines that take a 12x12 size cutting mat.

A side note on the cutting mat.... Provo Craft has redesigned the adhesive on the cutting mats and we will see those cutting mats SOON! The new Cricut Mini uses the new cutting mat and new adhesive. If enough people ask for something Provo Craft is pretty good about making it happen, within reasonable limits :)

Here is the envelope that I cut to match this, I used double sided paper for everything!

I cut ALL of my images at the 4" size. Do realize 4" size on this Christmas Cards cartridge, the machine assumes you are making a 4" card, so everything you cut will be proportional to the 4" card.

Here you can see the score lines that are automatically cut so you know where to fold! How great is that?!?!

Here was my first fold for the bottom of the envelope.

Here is where I folded on the scored lines.

I put the side piece (shown on the bottom here)

down first so the card wouldn't get caught on in as it went in and out of the envelope.

Here you can see it tacked down, Do not tack these pieces down to the other parts,

or you wont be bale to slide that card in and out.

Here it is put together. Make sure to 'glue' your items on the inside to the front side of the envelope, or you wont be able to fit your card in it :)

I cut the little tab that was showing in the last picture

Here is my card base I checked it BEFORE I decorated it, to make sure it does fit.

I used a piece from another cut to dress up the outside of the envelope

Tis the Season to be jolly was cut from the paper by hand.

Here is my finished project.

I cut this circle and Merry Christmas words at 4" again, remember it is proportional to a 4" card.

I added a little Santa from the paper to the other side of the envelope.

This was all Echo Park paper.

Here is a sneak peek at next weeks Festive Friday creation. This would be a beginner or intermediate level. I cut and embossed metal and stamped on acrylic. You wont want to miss it!
