So for the month of June, I would like all of us and ALL of our crafty friends to make 5,000 cards for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Last month we works on cards for Operation Write Home for our soldiers to write in and send home to their friends and family. I had a goal of 1,000 and received over 2,200 cards! So this month I need all of the help I can get.
   They would like cards that do not remind the children of their illness, but to tell them to "Hope they feel better soon" Also these cards need to contain ALL of the sunshine you can pack into them. I am going to call this my SUNSHINE and SMILES project. I have a goal of getting John Rich, in the Country Music world, to just acknowledge what we are doing here. I am still waiting to hear back from his staff. Hey a girl can have dreams right! I know these kids do. My husband and I support the Smile Train and Make a wish foundation.
   I have decided to make St. Jude's Children's Research hospital our project this month. Two weeks ago my mom was diagnosed with cancer. It really brought cancer back into the forefront of my life.
   I also watched this season of Celebrity Apprentice. John Rich made a great campaign for St. Jude's. So I would love your help with this project. These cards can be 10 of the same card, or different. Please limit duplicates to 10, it will make my personal delivery easier, Thanks in advance.
    My daughter and I will personally be delivering these cards to the kids at the hospital. I cannot wait to deliver a car full of sunshine! I hope you can use the next 4 weeks to make AS MANY cards as you can and to get the word out there about this project. Please do everything that you can to help make 5,000 cards.
   I have a high goal, but you can't go very far with your feet on the ground! So help me reach for the stars to help bring a smile to the faces of SO many children! I am beyond excited about this project. You are welcome to sign the card, even put your address in it if you would like the children to be able to write to you. Please get these IN THE MAIL to me By JULY 1, 2011 if you live in the US, if you live outside of the USA, please try to mail them by June 20, 2011. That is ALOT of time. Please don't wait until the last minute, work on some each week or day and think about all of the smiles that each of your cards will make! If you can only make one.... that is GREAT, everyone single counts, and will bring at least one smile! Thank you!

    The only guidelines are please do not remind the children of their illlness, just general Hope you feel better, hope you have a wonderful day, thinking of you.... etc. Try to stay away from birthday or specific greetings, they will be a little difficult for me to deliver (but I can always leave them at the volenteer station and have them use them for birthdays.) Remember these kiddos might not make it outside much, so pack all of the sunshine you can into that card. Any size, boy or girl, 3-d or flat, any age from baby to teenager etc....the sky is the limit, Literally! Sunshine and Smiles cards for St' Jude's, you can help!

I would love for you to help me make 5,000 cards for the children at St. Jude's children's hospital. The only rule is to not let the kids think about their illness. Hope you feel better soon or have a great day.... Sky 's the limit. This is my Sunshine and Smile card using Imaginisce Berrylicious papers. I uses Preserves Cricut cRidge I cut the large tag at 4" and the small ones at 2". The small tags are from page 46 the pineapple. The large tag is from page 39 the watermelon 2 and it is cut at 4". The watermelons are both cut at 4" on page 38 and 39.

Thia card was cut from a 12x12 peice of paper. I cut it in half then folded it and made my own 6x6 card.
I cut the watermelon at size 4" the tag is also 4", the page numbers are list above

This is the tag taken out of the watermelon pocket. I just used adhesive on the edge of the green papper on the back. I glued the red part edge to edge to the gree paper. I jsut added a little peice of green riboon and a brad that I made myself with the Itop brad maker!

This is the inside of the card for notes and a little decoration! This watermelon was also cut at size 4"

This is the front of my second card. I used 4 different papers for this.
I put little envelopes for the tags to fit into :) I also used the Itop brad maker for these adorable brads!

This is the cute little seed strip that I put inside of the card!

I then added scratch and sniff stickers to the tags I created. PERFECT to bring some SUNSHINE and a SMILE to the kids at St. Jude's Hostpital.

Erica's 100+ cartridge Blog Hop

I have made this beautiful Travel album. I used Best Creations Travel Forever Paper. I only used the font from A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge, all of the others were cut by hand. I hope you like it! I embossed with the bubbles cuttlebug folder. I added tons of Glitter and embossing, glitter is kind of my signature :)

I cut these letter form A child's year cartridge. I cut one set at 1.5" and the next at 1.6"
I used pop dots to give them a layer and dimention.

I free hand cut all of these, I used the bubbles cuttlebug folder to emboss these.

I cut these all by hand then used a cute stamp set to stamp and emboss the words.

Just a few little places to hide things in...

The suite cade on the left pops out, so CUTE!

I used Country Life Cartridgeto make my projects...

   Recipe:    Base 12x12 craft paper.  Trim 1 inch off two sides of printed red paper and secure to base.  I have a Sew Easy to make the holes around the border of the red paper.  However I wanted it to look handmade, so did not use all the scored holes made.  Whipped stitched with black yarn for contrast.

Phrase Home Cookin' and shadow cut at 4 inches.  The apron and shadow cut at 4.5 inches.  The kitchen utinsel jar was cut at 5 inches, edges inkedand shaded in red/brown (Quick Quotes Amaretto) and mounted to layout with pop dots.  Photos were double matted (beige and brick) and attached to layout with gold photo corners.  To complete the homey look, journaling was typed (font, True Type) on clear label then mounted on the same paper as the photo mat.   To finish, I added a bit of bling, ribbon and buttons, thin twine was just tied through button and placed on layout with glue dot.

Instructions for Cards for Soldiers

Operation Write home Guidelines:

Here are the guidelines set forth by The Operation Write Home website. I have narrowed down the guidelines even more to make our project more specific. If you want to help reach our goal of 1,000 cards, have a card party and get your friends together.  These do not need to be fancy, just put your heart into it. Please read the guidelines below.
I will collect these and then show them on Ustream Friday June 3, 2011
So, try to have them mailed in time, I will wait a few days for late mail, but to be in the random drawing they need to get to me by June 3rd. I will show this at 8:30pm EST Our 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog hop will begin with me showing your cards.
I will then ship them to Operation Write Home after I have showed them to you all and chosen (random) winners.

You do not have to be a follower to enter, if you can get your friends to make cards, or ANYONE you know. I would like to send a box of 1000 cards. I know we can do it!

Your card must fit into one of the above categories.
These are the only categories that we will be sending this month.
I am sure to do this again and we may do different categories next time.

Remember these cards are for the soldiers to use to write home, so remember that as you are making your cards.

No glitter. It's a safety hazard for our heroes, so no cards with any glitter that will flake off the card are accepted.

Many of our deployed heroes live in very primitive conditions. Primitive as in no showers for a couple weeks. No laundry. Nowhere to get cleaned up. And if they open a box of cards and get sprinkled all over, they might have absolutely nowhere to get rid of all that mess; they may not even realize it's all over them. And if they have glitter on their uniforms it can put them at risk — it can make them visible to night vision goggles, and that is just not a risk we're willing to take!

A2 sized cards. 4.25" x 5.5"  Best card size: A2

The preferred size for cards for our boxes are A2 cards - 5.5" x 4.25". These are achieved simply by using a piece of cardstock cut in half and folded. (Either direction, a vertically-opening or horizontally-opening card, both shown at right)

The bottom line
So, if you'd like to help with making the most of our donated shipping dollars so we can get the most cards possible in a box—go for the A2s! And include a little donation in your box to cover envelopes for your cards....ship the creativity and leave the envelopes to us!

Line cards made with dark cardstock. If a pencil won't show up, add a liner.

Limit multiples. no more than 100 for year-round cards. Some crafters love to make one design again and again. Others only do that when in a hurry to fill a box or meet a goal. And some have told us many hurdles they had to overcome to meet that goal they'd set.

Any quantity is JUST fine. One, a bunch, or a box full; each and every card is a treasure!  

Do NOT handwrite sentiments. Neither outside or inside the cards.

Card themes. Remember who's sending these: adults. No cards to Daddy, no "wish you were here," or party invitations; no explicit images or sentiments. See the Needs page for a list of desired themes.

 Absolutely no storebought.

Stamped on the backs? Operation Write Home. I HAVE A STAMP FOR THIS, so don't worry about it.

Tucked? Envelopes for A2 cards aren't required - but having cards arrive tucked and ready to go assures your cards can be mailed out quickly and saves the shipper hours of labor.  

Have fun and put your heart into this. I will have fun giveaways for this. But do this for the soldiers not for the giveaways.

Welcome to "My Favorite Cartridge" Monthly Blog Hop

Here is the book stand up, well on its side in the picture. This is it finished.

a little tip for the ribbon. This is Grosgrain ribbon. It always frayed in me. I learned a little tip Instead of cutting the ribbon and having it unravel then trying to use fray check. If you use a hot knife to cut it, it cuts and cures it at the same time. 

All of my papers used are from BEE SCRAPPY. I used Kate's ABCs for the letters cut at 1 3/4" the 'frame' on the right is actually a door frame from Ornamental Iron cut at 3 1/4"
I used the Zig two way glue pen to put glue on the edges and then glitter on them. You have to cut the paper around the edge of the board book. Sometimes it is not the best looking thing, so I sprinkle glitter on it to cover up any ooopppps mistakes :)

This is still the board book, with Girl cut from Kate's ABCs GIRL is cut at 1 3/4" there was a kitten between the letters and I cut it out then I also seperated the bottom of the letters. I wanted a layer to I tried to make the same word at 2" and it just didnt work. So I made another one with the blue paper the same size and just put the on top of each other and move the bottom layer up and to the right a bit. then the blue that was showing, I used the glue pen and put blue glitter on it. On the right it is the same frame as before, just in a new paper. The 'windows' are 1 3/4" and they are a base layer for a door from Ornamental Iron.

By The Way-That is my cutie in the pictures.

This has the description for the words down below. Kate's ABCs at 1 3/4" and the same frame as all of the others, just new paper. The sentiment is a rub on from the same collection as the papers. All from Bee Scrappy.

So this is the base I used from Kate's ABCs, I cut it at 1 3/4" I used a stripe paper with Silver accents.

I cut this also from Kate's ABCs at 1 3/4" I try to use the same size for all words in a project. This was my base.

I then cut out the top layer in the Stripe, without the Silver (A different paper) I then used a small glue pen to outline the edge of the butterfly then I sprinkled Blue glitter around the edge. I then used the glue pen again and filled in the butterfly. I then sprinkled purple glitter on it.

So I use this cute little Xyron thing. It is technically a sticker maker but it gets adhesive on every little peice, and no sticky mess to clean up afterwards. So i put my words and peices through here.

I added the paper using a Tymo glue pen, if you add the paper to the chipboard book, wait to it to dry before cutting out the edges. I will tear if you do it wet. I also used the little Cricut Scoop to poke the holes then i stuck it in and swirled it around to make them nice and smooth.

Here is the back side you can see the paper at the top is scalloped, Wait until it is dry to cut it. I used an exacto knife to carefully cut the extra paper away. It was very easy to get the paper on the book. I applied the Tymo glue to the entire side of the book, Make sure you get all of the edges. Then I stuck the paper on and used the boning tool in the Cricut tool kit to smooth the paper over the book.

I wanted little decorations for the window, but I had no idea what side to cut. So I do a thing I call STAGEING the paper. I use plain white paper and cut the image and keep changing the size until I find the one that works. I then put my GOOD paper on the cutting mat and cut the ones I want. These are from Ornamental Iron, cut at 1 3/4"

Here is the GOOD paper that I cut the image out of. I wanted the stripes to line up on both of them, so I cut one, then I used the arrow keys to go down and across to start my cut right under the first one. I took them off of the cutting mat and put them under the windows.
The wording is a rub-on from kaiser Craft, the whole paper set is from there.

Again I used white to make sure it was the size I wanted. This was cut from Ornamental Iron Cartridge at
2 3/4" after I knew it was the right size I cut it from the paper.

I then took the cut out, it was very plain so I decided to add glitter, so I put the image into the Sticker maker. The sticker maker, put adhesive on the bottom side. I wanted glitter /adhesive on top, so I put this in TOP side DOWN. I took it out sprinkled the glitter, then turned it over and put it through again so the adhesive would be on the bottom.

I used the litte try to put the glitter on then it has a funnel you can dump it right back into the container.
You waste less this way.

I cut these from a gate on Ornamental Iron, BEFORE I removed them from the mat, I traced the edge with the glue pen where i wanted glitter, I then sprinkled it on and THEN removed my image from the cutting mat. This was cut at 3 1/4" these are for my picture frames.

Here ar the suplies and tools I used. The 4 Martha Stewart Glitters, Zig glue pens, Tymo glue, Duck adhesive for the back of the pictures. A clear block for the fairy stamp on the fron of the book. My PINK tool kit, LOVE IT!
