Headed to Provo-Craft to hopefully bring this to you soon!!

How great of a Cartridge Handbook would this be????
(This was one of my other pitches in July)

Well I am headed to Provo Craft now for this below. My proposal for the handbooks. I have many of them done. Wouldn't you LOVE to see all handbooks done like this so you know EXACTLY how to make each image? Wouldn't you use your Cricut more?
Wouldn't you buy more cartridges if they were all this easy to see HOW to put it together???
Please comment on this post as this post is going to Provo- Craft and they can see your feedback!!!
This shows you which color of paper to use and which buttons to press.

This is wonderful, Erica... So so helpful - will Provo-Craft be doing this...

This would be a dream come true. I get confused sometimes, myself. I can just imagine what the new kids on the block think. Even if they just did this in a digital handbook, it would be awesome!! Thanks, Erica!

That would make my life much easier!!!!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE it. As a newbie, I always have the hardest time trying to figure it out. I think it would save me a lot of time and frustration. I hope that Provo Craft approves of your idea.

Cora Ford said...

Wow that would make it so much easier....would it show up like that in the handbook library also?

This would be fantastic! I love the color coding. It would make life soooo much easier!

Yes please! That would take a lot of guess work/time out of it for me. Sometimes I have to sit and decode the cuts and by the time I do, my head is swimming and I no longer want to create anything. This would be wonderful!

Great Idea!! And could you tell them we need a Barbie Cartridge also!!

What a great idea. I admit, I would do a LOT more with my Cricut if this was included. I always get stuck on how to do some of it and get everything the right size to match up all the layers correctly.

Excellent idea Erica. Here's hoping Provo Craft is receptive to it. I hope if they do it that it is in book form as I don't use the craft room.

This would be fabulous. So many times I am confused, especially with the older books on how to cut a multi layered image and how to recreate the samples in the books. This is especially frustrating with the cartridges that do not come with a full book.

I would LOVE for this to happen! I have been VERY frustrated with the most recent little folders that PC has given with some of the newest, smaller cartridges. We need more direction and information! Crafting should BE FUN, not stressful ...and when you have to try to figure it all out... takes the fun out of it.
PLEASE PROVO CRAFT...do something just like Erica is showing!
THANK YOU!

I would love tho have this added to the cartridges. Sometimes it is frustrating to sit there and try to figure out how to get it to come out the same as the picture. This would save time and with all of us having such a limited time to craft every second counts.

Melissa said...

I would love this! I've often wondered why they didn't do something like this to make it easier to understand how layers go together, especially with more detailed images.

I would love something like this, those handbooks are very confusing

What a fabulous idea!! While they're at it, maybe they could redo the graphics on the older digital handbooks, very poor image quality on some.

There are definitely some cartridges that I need something like the for. I know 2 off the top of my head that I love, but never use because I cannot get the layers to work. Great Idea!!

This is such a awesome ideal alot of times I give up and just don't make some items because they are just to hard to figure out. And sometimes I think provocraft left out the secret decoder ring. Old age has slowed me down. But I'm a fairly intelligent person. It's nice to know I'm not the only one.!

Oh Erica! I love this idea!! It would be perfect as a "helper" when it is difficult to see how things fit together! Thanks for being a voice for us Cricuteers!!

I would LOVE to have this with my cartridges, I have so many images I haven't even touched yet and so many cartridges not used enough- it would definitely make me buy more cartridges, YEAH !

This layout would make using the cricut much simpler! Great job Erica!

kdgdi said...

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is a very clear and helpful way to help cricut users. I know it would help me and encourage me to make more with my cricut. I often feel overwhelmed with some of cuts with layers.

Lin said...

THANK YOU!! I am using a magnifying glass and an inordinate amount of time struggling with SEEING the layers in their pale colors/getting all the parts...jumping through all the experimental hoops to accomplish a single item. My young granddaughter is counting on me to be her cricut mentor, this would make it sweet for both of us.

Anonymous said...

Oh my gosh this would be wonderful!!!!!
It would make seeing the cuts we need so much easier!
I have my cartridge handbooks downloaded to my 7 in tablet and this would make seeing them so much better there, too!
I love the section you have that shows the cuts we need and the order to push the buttons to get that cut. the colors help a lot, too!
I think if the handbooks were set up this way PC would get some of those customers that maybe a little nervous about how to get started.
I always have to sketch out the cut, its button location, the feature buttons I'll need etc and this would save me a lot of time.
My wish would be that they redo the older cart handbooks as well as the new ones.

What a GREAT idea! I would love, love, love to see this type of handbook. I don't know how much time and material I have wasted trying to cut some of the more detailed pieces, not to mention all of the stress that goes along with it!! I hope they listen!!

This is a lovely idea, this type of handbook would be so much more useful and help me a lot of people. This would make the Cricut machine user friendly. I also think it would help a person design more detail scrapbook pages etc, which then they would use their machine more and probably in turn buy more cartridge if a person used what they already have

This is a great idea Erica. I think that it would be so helpful to new cricut user and helpful on some of those cuts that we just aren't sure about which cut is which. I hope that PC will go with your idea.

What an Awesome Idea always wondered why the didn't include it like this. would love all to be this way so many different was to use the images and the way to lay them out. thanks

caccie said...

I would love this!! Could spend more time crafting instead of trying to figure out which buttons I need to use...

Jessica Buffa said...

Back to chime in with my opinion again....
I am really liking this idea after playing with the Sweet Treats cartridge and losing my mind up until 2:30 a.m. last night...LOL
I had a horrible time trying to figure out if one of the cuts (I am assuming candle and flame) were to go on top of the first layer, under the first layer, or in the middle somewhere. I opted to leave it out!!!

Anonymous said...

I agree that this would be a great help! I definitely would buy more cartridges that way as I would have a better idea of how to make the items.

Anonymous said...

What a great idea! Would save time and for sure will use images a lot more.

Nina said...

Yes! Who designs their handbooks anyway? A Man!!!

Diane Angell said...

If they don't run with your idea they will be fools! This is awesome and I for one would definitely buy all new handbooks and tons more cartridges if these were the books!

Scrapperdee said...

If your idea makes the printed images on the handbook smaller...or adds more pages..or makes the handbook page size larger, then I don't like it one bit.

I think the handbooks are pretty self explanatory as they are.

Scrapperdee said...

I think PC should spend more time on:

- proofreading cartridges (seems to be 1 spelling mistake/cartridge)
- making sure updates to cricut sync don't kill gypsies, imagines etc
- updating content on cricut sync on a more timely basis
- improving CCR so its easier to use (and doesn't kill imagines) and doesn't require internet access

Jessica Buffa said...

Again, giddy with enthusiasm that you are being our "Middle Man Voice" to Provo Craft and your ideas are always amazing!

I like the idea but I believe it would make the hand books much larger and/or the print smaller to fit it all in! That part concerns me. I like it that they put the individual images as their own color but I think the problem is that they are all too small! (And I have better than 20/20 eyesight)

I am MUCH more excited about your idea for CCR. Other machines and software already do this. So, it would be a definite improvement.

I wish we could use CCR to make, draw our own shapes! What do you think about that... I don't think this would decrease sales, I think it might INCREASE sales because they would be "free" to make any image AND use their artwork! It takes a lot of time and talent to make your own images. I think a lot of people don't have the time to do this.

Also, you could SELL an upgrade to CCR that would allow you to make your own shapes. $$$
