25 Days of Christmas December 18, 2011- Theme ELF

ELF day!

As Santa's executive elf, I LOVE THIS DAY, not as much as penguin day, not a close second. Bella is my Elf Apprentice and she is so excited about her new title. This year being the big 4 year old girl.... she got to help me unpack the ornaments, then I since her first Christmas I tell her the story about each one as she put it on the tree. She LOVED it! She even remembered half of the stories. Yes every ornament on our tree has a story or a person who it came from. It is a nice and pretty tree.... but full of special memories. I look at the ornaments from a few people who have passed away and for the first year instead of crying, I smiled thinking of the great Christmas' that we had together. I have not forgotten about them and I have not lost my heart missing them, but I have finally healed a bit from their loss and I can now celebrate that they were in my life and loved it while they were there. I want to make these kind of special memories with Bella and I think we do. I have been quiet online lately. I have been busy, but more than anything working on healing my family and spending time together.

On to today's great projects!

These elf projects are sooo cute! Love them all!
I do the same thing with my kids with the ornaments. And each year they get a new ornament that goes with something they like currently.

Ahhhhhh - I love elfs! My kids (19 & 21) told me last year they dont like the ornaments we use -- the ones they've made me through the years. I was heart broken since it's all very important to me! Now I let them each pick a color (not telling the other) and we buy ornaments of those two colors. So far, so good! Tree is beautiful but to this mom just a tree without their ornaments on there.
