Love is in the Air Blog Hop Day ONE

Welcome to the Love is in the Air Blog Hop! You should have just come from Janet's blog http://www.ladyluvbug.blogspot.com/
If you are just joining the hop and wish to start from the beginning, please visit Lisa's blog http://honeybearzdesigns2011.blogspot.com/

The complete blog hop lineup is at the bottom of this post.

Each blogger participating in this hop is featuring a project having to do with Valentine's Day or Love. This super-fun hop will be showcasing cards, layouts and projects that feature anything and everything to do with LOVE since that is what Valentine's Day is all about right!! You'll find an array of ideas throughout this hop. From decorations to gift ideas and more, we hope you'll enjoy each and every project along the way!! Be sure to leave a comment at each hop stop to show all the participants a little love.

This is a two-day blog hop. So, please be sure to stop by tomorrow also!

I used the brand NEW Cricut Giant Flowers cartridge to make this flower.... it was not the easiest thing to make.... I will do a UStream tutorial for you all with it soon.

I do have to admit this was NOT easy to make the flower. I cut the flower at 5", but you have to read page 25 to see how many of each shape to cut, one is 7, 5, and 3. It does not show that on the page where it says what to cut out. I cut out all of my shapes then inked the edges while it was still on the mat... easier this way. Then I sprayed the tattered angel Sugar Plum Fairy and it wouldn't spray so i opened it and used the little plastic 'straw' to splatter the plum ink. I actually really like the look of the splatter. I thought I was done and had to cut more.... when I cut more, my tattered angels spray worked. so the petals ended up with different looks, which worked out perfect ;) After a half an hour of configuration I put it together. I finished it with more shimmer spritz and then I added a few dots of Diamond Stickles to look like wet dew drops in the flower. I then put it on the dishes for hubby to have coffee in the morning.... then I went to bed.

This was a little love note for my Hubby..... I stamped then embossed the I Love You to the Moon and Back with Silver Zing embossing powder and then heat set it. I used Sugar Plum Fairy glimmer mist for a plum look to my pink papers. I also used shimmer spritz in pewter for an all of shimmer. I just cut this free hand and used my zutter 1/2" corner rounder for nice corners.
I have this cartridge and 22 other for only $22,
and I have 18 cartridges for $18, they are in the "On Sale and Special" category in my store.

I used the K. Andrew Designs Its Valetnines stamp set....
One lucky hopper this weekend will win this set of stamps :)
