Tomorrow will be a special My IMAGINE-ation Monday where I will announce the

Also 'just a note', and I am not talking about the cartridge :) On Wednesday you will see what Melissa and I made using the Close To My Heart Cricut cartridge and stamp set. We will be using the same size cuts but we will not put it together until we are not with each other.... so
Would You Ever Guess Wednesday will have a little extra project this week :)  I just have to let Melissa know that she is doing a special project.
Also later this month a few of us are using the same papers to make anything we want with it, I am very excited about this day. It will be on the calendar as "Happy Camper" it will be on a Thursday later in August!
We have such amazing things in the near future!

Scrapbooking Saturday July 30, 2011

Grab a cup of coffee and stroll through our scrapbook day!

Remember today is the last day to submit for the new design team.

Connie, Melissa, and Heather
have shared pages of their own scrapbooks.

Here's Connie's Layout for Scrapbook Saturdays~July 30th
Connie used the following Cricut Cartridges:  Country Life, County Fair, Elegant Edges, Summer Vacation, and Jubilee. I love how resourceful Connie was. She couldn't imagine how a cartridge names County Fair, didn't have the word fair in it, see Cricut knew how creative Connie could be, they just wanted to test her! I love this! So cute and VERY creative! She always has something wonderful to share with us!
Did I mention I will be Scrap-lifting this one for sure!
To see how Connie made this please visit her blog today.... http://conniescraftycloset.blogspot.com/

Melissa has shared a cute scrapbook creation that she made for her Fiance.....
did I mention that is my brother? I was lucky enough to get married last month and their wedding is less than two months away. She made this great scrapbook mini album for his office!
Make sure to check out her blog http://pinkpolkadotscrapping.blogspot.com/

Also Heather made a wonderful scrapbook albumn to share today too!
Here is the front cover.
I would love to guess how she made it, but if you go to her blog you can see how she made it!

I love the monkey, jsut one more reason why I LOVE Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge!

HOW CUTE!!!!!
Well for you to see how Heather made this and more pictures of it on her blog
http://operationcricutdesign.blogspot.com/

I have finished up the Cricut's CraftRoom help guide and the color codes for the Cricut Imagine machine. I will have them up later this weekend to share! Have a great Saturday!
I will announce my new Design Team on Monday, WOW is all I can say as to how many and how wonderful  the submissions are! I add beginners and advanced level of talent in my team! I am so excited to share the NEW editions to the team with you on Monday!

My entry for the Christmas in July blog hop!

To get to this post, you should have come from
Pink Polka Dot Scraping
If NOT please start over at

Here is what I have made for today's blog hop....
and a sneak peek at what I am making for next Friday's Festive Friday.

I used Christmas Cards Cricut Cartridge to make this!

I did my first cuts with just plain copy paper.... I used a brand new mat so I could see where the copy paper was cut. I removed the copy paper and then put my colored paper in the places that I wanted each color. For me it was easier to do it this way, as apposed to loading my mat for each color i wanted to use, so I unloaded my mat put the colors where I wanted them, then "load mat" and touch "repeat last" then CUT. It came out perfect.
You can see that I used an Imagine mat, these mats work in all machines that take a 12x12 size cutting mat.
A side note on the cutting mat.... Provo Craft has redesigned the adhesive on the cutting mats and we will see those cutting mats SOON! The new Cricut Mini uses the new cutting mat and new adhesive. If enough people ask for something Provo Craft is pretty good about making it happen, within reasonable limits :)

Here is the envelope that I cut to match this, I used double sided paper for everything!
I cut ALL of my images at the 4" size. Do realize 4" size on this Christmas Cards cartridge, the machine assumes you are making a 4" card, so everything you cut will be proportional to the 4" card.

Here you can see the score lines that are automatically cut so you know where to fold! How great is that?!?!

Here was my first fold for the bottom of the envelope.

Here is where I folded on the scored lines.

I put the side piece (shown on the bottom here)
down first so the card wouldn't get caught on in as it went in and out of the envelope.

Here you can see it tacked down, Do not tack these pieces down to the other parts,
or you wont be bale to slide that card in and out.

Here it is put together. Make sure to 'glue' your items on the inside to the front side of the envelope, or you wont be able to fit your card in it :)

I cut the little tab that was showing in the last picture

Here is my card base I checked it BEFORE I decorated it, to make sure it does fit.

I used a piece from another cut to dress up the outside of the envelope

Tis the Season to be jolly was cut from the paper by hand.
Here is my finished project.

I cut this circle and Merry Christmas words at 4" again, remember it is proportional to a 4" card.

I added a little Santa from the paper to the other side of the envelope.
This was all Echo Park paper.

Here is a sneak peek at next weeks Festive Friday creation. This would be a beginner or intermediate level. I cut and embossed metal and stamped on acrylic. You wont want to miss it!

Here is a sample of a metal piece that I embossed with the cuttlebug.
Thanks for hopping!
Tomorrow is Scrapbook Saturday!

There is one more stop on today's blog hop

I have created this project "Sunshine and Smiles" and basically I am goign to the hosptial to deliver the cards, but I am going to bring as much sunshine into that hospital as I can. I hope to see a ton of smiles from the kids getting these cards. If I dont see a smiel from the cards, then I will do everything that I can to put a smile on that child's face.
I am also trying to get John Rich a country music STAR, to join me on this project, and he just might bring a few of his celebrety friends to help! I will be collecting cards from now until the end of August. You can mail them to:

EricaCraftRoom@aol.com and put Sunshine and Smiles as the subject of the email.
Here are a few more details about the project. You can make any type of card, using and crafting technique that you know, please write a simple message in the card to a child. Please do not remind the child of their illness, most are fighting childhood cancer. You may say get well soon, but DONT say, "I know how you feel and it is not fun...." please DONT say anything like that. But you can say "Get Well Soon" "I hope this puts a smiel on your face".... you get the idea.... you dont need to ask if soemthing is ok to write in it, as long as you do not remind the child of their illness, it is ok.
Frequently asked questions....

Can a child make a card for them?
YES YES YES!!!!
Does it have to be a certain size?
Any size!
Do I have to add envelope?
Nope, I am going to have these in a large (Clean) red wagon for the kids to pick thier own card
Can I put them in envelopes?
Yes
Do I have to use the Cricut to make these??
No, this is the ONLY project that you do not HAVE to use the cricut, but wouldn't it be great if you did :)
Can I make a birthday card?
Sure but I will leave those with the volenteers for the future to give to kids who are there for their birthday
Do I need to have a kids cartridge to do this?
No, you can use anything and make anything, even a card full of flowers. I am sure there will be one child who will love flowers, or bear, cars.... the sky is the limit!

I do hope i have answered all of your questions if not, please email me and I will send it back to you and add it to the post here so others will see the question and answer.

In the meantime I am doing a contest for this....
Each week post your cards on my facebook Cricut Craft Room
Each week i will put all of the name in a bowl and pick a winner. Every card that you submit get you ONE entry into the bowl...

At the end of the 4 weeks, who ever submitted the MOST carts will win the NEW Cricut cartridge that will be released this Thursday from Cricut, I cannot tell you the name only that S.S. are the initials for it.
If you have already mailed cards to me, they will be added to the total of cards you are submitting. I do not have to have these cards in my hand this week. BUT you have to post the picture on my facebook for it to count. If you have a card decorating party with your friends or social group.... Would You Ever Guess Wednesday July 27, 2011

Just a few things today :)

1.I would like to explain what Would you Ever Guess Wednesdays are all about.
2. Share Melissa's creation
3. Details about the Design Team Call
4. Details about Sunshine and Smile, cards for the Kids at St. Jude's, I need to have us all make 5,000 cards for these kids :)

Would you ever guess Wednesday, is when we take something you would not normally thing would be on that cartridge, or we use a cake cartridge to make a paper creation,
we might make a home decor item, that is not a card or scrapbook page
(so just something different and dimentional)
lastly, we use the feature keys on a cartridge to make a creation, but NOT the main image.
I have added a picture to show you what I mean about the 'feature' keys.

I am intentionally using the Seasame Street Season Cartridge, most people who do not have kids, don't even look at this cartridge, WELL i am making it my job to have you take a second look at this cartridge and many others, that is what Would You Ever Guess Wednesday is ALL about!
I have also added the link for you to take a second look at the other
'features' of the other cartridges on cricut.com

Here is the front and back of this cartridge,
you can see the characters and on the left you can see what the 'features' are.

Here is the keypad to see all of the images

This is a close up of the feature keys found on the top left of the keypad.
For Wednesdays we would NOT use the main image OR the layers of that, on this cartridge in perticular, we would not use, Layer 1 or Layer 2, But we would use WORD, PROP, or PROP LAYER features.

Here is on the handbook where you can see what those feature keys go to.... So for today I would press the WORD key then the image that this goes with to get the word SUN on the top right box, or select SHIFT then WORD to use the Spanish word SOL, I coudl also press PROP then the image to get the sun's base, then SHIFT then PROP to get the top layer of the SUN. This image does not have a PROP LAYER, as it says not available.

I hope this helps you to understand Would You Ever Guess Wednesday!
Here is the link for you to check out OTHER cartridges and thier features!
http://www.cricut.com/information/cartridge_library.aspx

Now on to my Design Team's Creation. Today Melissa made a cute card to share.... she said it was inspired by my room, which has subtle Zebra accent to it!

Melissa made this using ONLY the features of the Damask Decor Cricut Cartridge.
To see how she made it please go to her blog

I am also trying to get John Rich a country music STAR, to join me on this project, and he just might bring a few of his celebrety friends to help! I will be collecting cards from now until the end of August. You can mail them to:
Erica's Craft Room
4364 LaBurnum Drive
Akron, Ohio 44319
If you have any questions about this please email me
EricaCraftRoom@aol.com and put Sunshine and Smiles as the subject of the email.
