We all know how much I LOVE Cricut!!!!
A friend of mine sent this post to me from facebook. This is a post about the Silhouette vs. the Cricut..... The problem is they only asked Silhouette people, well if I asked all of you about Silhouette or Cricut of course MOST of you would say Cricut.
I feel like they only asked Silhouette fans....
Well if they asked me Cricut or Cameo.... we ALL know I would pick Cricut...
I use my cricut for everything, literally.
I love the fact that i can buy ONE cartridge, lets say Flower Shoppe and I get dozen of choices, there is actually a printed guide so I know how to put it together (the new guides they are doing are AMAZING) So I can pay around $20 for all of those flowers and I can mix and match them! I love the freedom to pick what I want. Now, they have begun to allow us to purchase one item at a time. Did you see all of the Father's Day cards that were so easy to put together and only $1.99
They also have been making a design or set of designs,

I do find with my Silhouette I am always searching forever to find matching sets of images. If I added up all of the items I needed to make my last SVG project it was $73.... I wanted some shapes and some phrases and a card base and the envelope.... After going ALL over to find these things in different places I had spent more than any Cricut cartridge.
On my site they are all between $15- $34.99 EVERYDAY.....
So for $35 or less, I would rather buy an entire cartridge that I do can keep and have in my hand (and loan to my mom)
Speaking of her.... She wanted to cut out a school's logo.... I gave her my Silhouette Cameo to do it. She had no idea where to start to get from the image to the cutting file. (Problem #1)
So I did that for her and sent it to her.... She had to be online to be able to use it (Problem #2)
After she got online and I walked her through it she couldn't get the mat loaded.... It was one thing after another and she then tried to put of the images on her virtual cutting mat. She has not touched it since then.
But I did show her some fun things last night with the Cricut. AFTER I showed her only ONE time how to use the cricut and how to push the buttons to get what she wanted.... it was a breeze for her.

It took one 20 talk and she has it mastered.
This is a person thing for me.... I hate to admit this, but.... I have dropped my Expressions 10+++ times and never had a problem EVER when I went to cut with them. I dropped the Silhouette ONCE and it wouldn't turn on again.... so ANOTHER $300 later I have another machine and it just sits there.
The only reason why I have it is to cut my company logo on vinyl. I cannot find blades for it or adjust the pressure settings... it came with this little tiny plastic thing but I can't get it to work.
I have no idea if Cricut will allow us to cut SVGs and our fonts on the computer....
What I DO KNOW, is that they send out random surveys periodically. I have found that within a year of a survey that i have answered... they usually end up giving us those options. I hope this is true with the recent survey I answered about what i want to be able to cut.
Another wonderful thing with Cricut is that I can go into any craft store and buy blades or cutting mats or even a new cartridge.... Not the case with the other machine. I do like them both for their own reasons, but If I was given one machine for the rest of my life....

I left my comment! I wish I could have said more. I can't tell you how many I have sold just talking to people in Michaels and Joanns. One Christmas they all thought I worked there and asked me a hundred questions! You can't go weong with a Cricut!
ReplyDeleteVery well said Erica.. I posted and passed it along. Im so loyal to my cricut machines ...Im a collector too. When I was teaching and selling the cricut I love it because it was so easy to teach and it sold it self. It is so user friendly ...and now with the Free Cricut craftroom to design in. I have bought an imagine and cut with in 10 minutes. I dont even look at the other machines because I have everything I need.

ReplyDeleteI love that PCraft allows us to try out free for a time cuts on CCR.
As a matter of fact I was up until 2 am playing with the cuts they have there for their new Create a Critter 2 cart. lol
On the Cricut vs Cameo I totally feel that people who have not tried or do not own both shouldn't comment negatively about one or the other.
I have a Cricut and not a Cameo.
I wouldn't feel honest if I commented on the Cameo without having ever tried one.
I love my Cricuts AND EVERYTIME I have had an issue with carts, mats, blades and my Expression Provo Craft has replaced or fixed them.

These bears are to die for !!!!! So is my Cricut! I love my Cricut because of the true versatility of it, which makes it easy to use for my young grandkids as well as myself and my disabled son to make about anything we want to make!
ReplyDeleteI just love all your giveaways and blogs!I love my Cricut because of the true versatility of it, which makes it easy to use for my young grandkids as well as myself and my disabled son to make about anything we want to make!
ReplyDeleteAs I do not belong to facebook, I just wanted to pop by and say that I adore my Cricut and love the improvements that Provocraft have made in all areas. The E2, is fabulous. The newest cartridges are fantastic and show that Criut really do move with the trends. Don't even get me started on Cricut Craft Room!! It has become the 5th member of our family. I am creating amazing scrapbook pages and cards in no time at all. And the freebies!!!! Who doesn't love freebies???
ReplyDeleteI do not own a Silhouette but have played around with one. Very time consuming. I don't enjoy spending over an hour looking for phrases to match images. (Another bonus of a cartridge based system. The hard work has been done for you and if you're not 100%, go to craft room and tweak it a bit.)
I am very happy with my Cricut and have had amazing follow up service from the company too. They really do listen to their customers and it shows in the improvements they made.
Luv Scrappy Vee xx
I have 2 Cricuts and a gypsy. Love Love Love Love them. I have been scrapbooking and card making 4 years now. So fun and easy. My friends come over to spend a day with me each week. We love learning from each other and seeing what we create. Cricut saves us all lots of money and trips to the store which saves on GAS....I love the support Provo Craft gives us when we are in a bind.....Wouldn't be without my friends and my Cricuts...
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda in Stanwood
There are so many things you can do with the Cricut that you cannot do with any other machine. I have even given one to my DDIL. This is so generous. I don't have many cartridges but love the ones I do have.
ReplyDeleteI did leave a comment I really hope you enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteShar GD:
Both!!! Why pick only one??? Why, when both offer great products!! Both do Great with cutting what you need to cut!! Yes one has cartridges and the other uses digital images. it is really what you are comfortable using. ? I have both, and I'm not going to give up any or I have invested way to much in both to get rid of one. So if you are thinking of picking up one or the other just really do research, if you have access in using both machines than try it before you buy it (friends, family, workshops) !! If not there is a lot of blogs out there that have personal opinions and tutorials for you to make a decision, and ask questions. (You tube) (Blogger) (RSSfeed) (Facebook) (Twittter) (Pinterest)
Aloha,
Shar

Wow! I love these cartridges! Especially the Trick or Treat cartridge, it's great! My little cousins, friends kids, niece and nephews always look forward to my Halloween goodie bags I hand make for them. They are always excited to see what I make different just for them each year. Every year my Cricut has helped make so many cute holiday goodies for the kids and the older ones like doing crafts with it also.

ReplyDeleteI love my Cricut Expression. I enjoy making all kinds of cards, layouts and crafts with it. But I have to say that my major joy comes when I create craft projects for Noah's Park. It is our children's church and I get such satisfaction from the look on their faces when they finish the craft project I have prepared for them. You always have such great giveaways. A very generous person I must say. My post name is Patricia Birdwell Alley. Thanks for all the wonderful things you offer.
